ACTIVITIES AROUND GRIZZLY CABIN WHITE MOUNTAINS
Grizzly Cabin is located in the heart of the White Mountains area of New Hampshire, right in the Mt. Washington Valley. We are 15 minutes to 4 ski resorts, 10 minutes to phenomenal hiking, and 1 minute to the East Branch of the Saco River. If shopping or dining is what you're looking for, we are 5 minutes to North Conway and 10 minutes to Jackson!
The White Mountains of New Hampshire provide some of the best hiking opportunities on the East Coast. From simple strolls through the woods to a 3-day Presidential Traverse, the White Mountains has hiking trails for every skill level. Grizzly Cabin is 10 minutes from Mountain Pond, Black Cap, North and South Doublehead, Whitaker Woods, and Kearsarge North, and 15 minutes to Peaked Mountain, Middle Mountain, Pudding Pond, Thorne Pond, Cathedral Ledge, Diana's Bath, and South Moat.
You can also reach Pinkham Notch and Crawford Notch within 30 minutes and Franconia Notch within 45 minutes!
KAYAKING / TUBING
There are plenty of places to rent kayaks and tubes to enjoy the rivers, streams, and lakes of the White Mountains. Whether you want to float down a mountain stream or kayak and explore the flora and fauna of a lake, the White Mountains has it all!
SKING / SNOWSHOEING
New Hampshire has some of the best sking on the East coast! Grizzly Cabin is within driving distance of Cranmore, Attitash, Black Mountain, King Pine, Wildcat, Bretton Woods, Loon, and Cannon. If sking is not your thing, you can rent snowshoes and hike miles and miles of trails to see a true winter wonderland!
There's plenty to see from your car, or from your car and a short walk. Drive the famous Kancamagus Highway, Bear Notch Road, Rt. 302, and Rt. 16 to see mountains, rivers, wildlife, historic sites, and some beautiful country.
The White Mountains has expanded its mountain biking trails in recent years and is quickly becoming the go-to destination for mountain biking in the Northeast. There are mountain biking trails 10 minutes from Grizzly Cabin on the Red Tail Trail and Hurricane Mountain, as well as biking in Moose Brook, Great Glen Trails, Loon Mountain, Attitash, Pudding Pond, Saco River Trail, and many other places!
